Barry M Sunset Pro Gels Swatches & Review

From left to right ' Do it Like a Nude,' 'Can't Get You Out of My Red,' and 'I've Been Pinkin')

I recently purchased 3 colours from the Barry M Sunset Pro Gels range along with the Top Coat. Firstly the packaging is very nice and sleek and I love the rose gold lids! The brushes are different to the normal Barry M brushes as they are wider and flatter which allows more control when applying the polish while also assuring there is not too much polish on the brush.

The colours are fantastic, however I would like to have seen an orange or green shade instead of the second pink shade. But I'm sure they will release more in this collection soon due to the huge overall satisfaction with this range.

The quality of the top coat is amazing and makes the nails look shiny and feel like silk! I am very impressed as before using these I found it very difficult to create that flawless finish with any other Barry M product.

My favourite out of the three I purchased has to be 'Do it Like a Nude' which did shock me as even though I think nude looks great on nails it is a very difficult colour to apply due to it being so light that it often shows up any imperfections making it hard not to apply layer after layer. However, this nude has totally changed my mind as I had a completely flawless finish and I was amazed by how good it looked.

Pink & Purple Stripes

Here's a quick and simple design that can be mixed and matched with any colours. Enjoy!

I am using Models Own HyperGel Purple Orchid, Models Own HyperGel Pitch Purple, Models Own Purple Haze and striping tape.

Firstly paint all nails with a clear base coat and leave to dry. Then place the striping tape as shown above making sure it's flat against the nail.

Paint two stripes of the Models Own Purple Orchid either side of the tape.

Paint a stripe of Models Own Pitch Purple down the middle followed by Models Own Purple Haze over the top.

Finally remove the tape whilst the nails are still wet in one, quick motion. Finish with a clear top when dry.

'FROOT' Nails Tutorial

Hey guys! I've been listening to the album 'FROOT' by Marina and the Diamonds almost constantly at the moment whilst doing revision so I thought why not do a FROOT inspired nail art tutorial!

I am using Models Own HyperGel Tropical Green, Models Own HyperGel Ebony Green, Models Own HyperGel Red Lustre, Models Own HyperGel Pitch Purple, Barry M Matt White, fruit nail accessories, a dotting tool, a black nail art pen and nail adhesive.

Apply a clear base coat and then once dry paint the middle two fingernails and the two little nails with Barry M Matt White.

Start by painting a strawberry on your index finger by applying a zig zag of Models Own HyperGel Ebony Green at the base of the nail (shown above) followed by painting the remaining nail with Models Own HyperGel Red Lustre.

Then draw a heart shape about 1/3 up from the base of the nail using Models Own HyperGel Red Lustre and then fill in to create an apple.

Then using the dotting tool use Models Own HyperGel Red Lustre to make the cherries and then use Models Own HyperGel Ebony Green to make the stalks.

Now use the dotting tool to make grapes by dotting using Models Own Hypergel Pitch Purple and once again using Models Own HyperGel Ebony Green to create a stalk.

Apply a thin layer of nail adhesive onto your thumbs and once clear and tacky apply the fruit nail accessories of your choice.

Finish by adding seeds onto the strawberry using Barry M Matt White and adding a stalk and leaf to your apple using Models Own HyperGel Ebony Green. Apply a clear top coat and you're done!

How To Do Ombre Nails

How To Do Ombre Nails!

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while, been very busy over Easter! Here's a quick and easy tutorial to make up for it, enjoy :)

I hope you enjoyed this 'how to' tutorial, if you have any questions then go to the 'Contact' tab to find out how to get in touch :) Thanks!

You will need any two or three colours of your choice and a make up sponge.

Firstly paint all the nails using the lightest of the colours or a white polish.

Then paint stripes onto your make up sponge like above.

Apply by dabbing onto the nail multiple times and reapplying the nail varnish to the sponge if it starts to dry or get tacky.

Finish with a clear top coat!
